Mariner Calc Spreadsheet for iPhone App Reviews

After doing some serious searching for the right spreadsheet app, I stumbled upon Mariner Calc. I loved the ability to try it out free by downloading Calc Lite. I also like the service after the sale. I have not had to use support, but it is good to know that it is there. The only thing that I would like added at this time is the ability to arrange my files in the order that I want. So far I am loving this!!!!!!!

I have a 3G phone and have upgraded to the new OS and the new version of Mariner Calc is working great. Love all the templates! Having those template makes those of us who dont necessarily need a spreadsheet app - can still use Mariner Calc for keeping track of other stuff more from a daily use - like the mileage and the time sheets. Keep em coming!

Do not update if you have existing spreadsheets that need to be opened. This update crashes most of the previously created spreadsheets. UPDATE: Current version is fixed. All previously created spreadsheets run perfectly. The developer pulled the update to avoid additional user problems. Nice response.

Excellent app , so far is working and I can do my pay roll and Email it without a problem.

After purchasing the other spread sheet program I lost it during an iphone update and it is no longer supported as a standalone app they wanted me to repurchase the entire suite. A few updates later and mariner calc is now my first choice for a spreadsheet program.

Works very well and am happy with it. Would be nice to have a tab button and I have encountered an import issue with a formula involving a RANK and COUNTIF function, but other than that, Im pleased.

Great app. I use spreadsheets to keep track of information for our dairy farm and insurance office. It can do almost everything that I need including sorting, freezing frames, and copying info between multiple pages. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I cant get it to do vertical look up from one page to the next. As soon as they get this issue fixed it will do everything that I need. If only excel for my computer was this cheep.

Good update to a good spreadsheet program with lots of functions and features. Data entry is still too cumbersome. Although you can now set the numeric keyboard to come up by default using the Settings app, to enter number data you must still: 1) touch the cell you want to enter numbers into, 2) enter the numbers, 3) press "Done", then lo and behold! - the keyboard goes away, and to enter another number you must repeat this whole sequence. The same is true for text entry in a cell. Every time you press done, the keyboard goes away. There should be keys for "Enter", which leaves the keyboard on screen, but moves to the next cell, and also "Done", which makes the keyboard go away. Also, Id really like to see a dedicated 10-key style numeric keypad, with larger keys buttons, like the one in the "Numbers" program for iPad. That would make my day.

Installed original vers. of this app on my 1st gen ipod touch. Recently had a problem loading app so I deleted it and attempted to re-install. Received message that this newer version is not compatible with my iPod touch. I wrote support but have never received an answer. I would not recommend buying an app from a developer that offers no support.

Any document ending in "x" as the new format for Office 2007 will not load. Ridiculous. I read an article from this company from 8/29/2010 where they say they will "add this soon". Riiiiight

A spreadsheet for my iPhone? Fantastic. I use spreadsheets as a sort of personal self programing converter-calculator. Once you figure out how to access the different menus AND sub menus you can utilize auto sum write formulas; copy and paste cell references while they auto translate or freeze a cell reference with the < $ > toggle for the row and or column. You can insert rows but watch it - the auto sum doesnt include the new row so just check your work. Hey I was happy even though I couldnt widen rows, but wait click on rows an columns and COOL. A way to adjust ht and width. I like to explore menus but not true for everyone. I would suggest that the help files or web support FAQ archives for this program include graphics that show the available options and how to employ them. For example I felt as the brunt of a mocking joke when I saw menu options to change cell color but when I picked it the cell wouldnt change color. Apparently you MUST also select APPLY and THEN the color changes. My assumption was from experience on a desktop computer where "apply" means show me the change NOW because Im too lazy to keep closing and opening the menu before I can decide which option I really want. On a computer the change happens if you click "OK" even if you dont click apply. To cancel you click cancel on a desktop. So some menus in Mariner Calc operate a little differently in that "APPLY" must be selected for the change to happen. Some people learn better with pics. I think more people could relate in this age of intuitive icons to see the layout of the menus somewhere on the website. I am super pleased with the program overall.

Works well for me, but there is room for improvement. For example, this app should have an option for password and option to view your files A-Z or Z-A. PLEASE ADD OPTION TO CREATE AND ORGANIZE FILES INTO FOLDERS.

Great app! Actually does what it says which is becoming harder to find on here. Im editing excel on my phone. Very happy!! I recommend it.

Good spreadsheet capability for quick recording and tracking. Great to have this capability on phone.

It is NOT formatted for iPad despite the headline. It also resets every-time you switch it. I think apple should add "false advertising" to the checklist under report abuses.

Works great for the iPod touch, font changes work excellent as well as saving. My only problem is that the program does not support Dropbox. I have had the program for two years now and have not had any complaints. Wifi transfer is accurate and fast. Thanks for such a good program.

I used to love this app. However the latest version 3.4.0 broke functionality that was previously working. Namely the =IF function appears to no longer work correctly. I am cautious about what other features are now broken. My spreadsheets are no longer working.

I was hoping this app would allow me to keep track of how many hours per day I was spending on my thesis and working, but after tooling around with the tutorial I couldnt get to a blank spreadsheet. I dont understand this app. Kind of wish I hadnt spent the money on it.
